Anthurium's "flowers" are actually spathes—colourful modified leaves. They last for weeks. The plant thrives in filtered light and high humidity, making it perfect for covered patios and under trees.

Care Tips

  • Sunlight: Bright indirect light (no direct sun). Filtered light under trees or on covered patios ideal. Direct sun burns leaves.
  • Watering: Keep soil moist but not waterlogged. Water when top inch is dry. Anthurium likes humidity—mist leaves or use pebble tray.
  • Soil: Well-draining, chunky mix. Orchid bark, perlite, peat. pH 5.5–6.5. Must not stay soggy.
  • Fertilizing: Light feeding every 4–6 weeks. Balanced or bloom booster. Dilute to half strength. Reduce in winter.
  • Humidity: Prefers 60%+ humidity. Jamaica's natural humidity helps. Group with other plants or mist regularly.
