Julie Mango

10,000 JMD

Beloved Jamaican Julie mango—small, sweet, fibre-free, and intensely aromatic. The island's favourite variety.

Julie mango is a dwarf variety ideal for smaller yards. Trees stay compact (10–15 feet) and produce smaller but exceptionally sweet fruit. Typically fruits May–August in Jamaica.

Care Tips

  • Sunlight: Full sun (6+ hours). Julie needs maximum light for sweet fruit. Space 12–15 feet from other trees.
  • Watering: Regular when establishing. Mature trees drought-tolerant but benefit from water during flowering and fruit swell. Reduce in winter.
  • Soil: Well-draining, deep soil. pH 5.5–7.5. Tolerates sandy soil. Avoid waterlogging.
  • Fertilizing: Young trees: 3–4 applications per year. Fruiting trees: fertilize after harvest and before flowering. Balanced or fruit-tree formula.
  • Pruning: Prune after harvest. Remove dead/diseased wood. Keep tree open for air flow. Julie is naturally compact—minimal shaping needed.

Jamaica Climate

Iconic Jamaican variety. Fruits May–August. Protect from anthracnose with copper spray if needed. Well-adapted to local conditions. Hurricane pruning: remove excess canopy to reduce wind catch.
