Care Tips
- Sunlight: Full sun (6+ hours). Citrus needs maximum light for sweet fruit.
- Watering: Regular, consistent. Allow top inch to dry between waterings. Reduce in winter.
- Soil: Well-draining, slightly acidic (pH 6.0–6.5). Sandy loam. Add compost.
- Fertilizing: Citrus fertilizer 3–4 times per year. Include micronutrients. Higher potassium when fruiting.
- Pruning: Light pruning for shape. Remove dead wood and suckers. Avoid heavy pruning.
Jamaica Climate
Well-suited to Jamaica. Watch for citrus greening (HLB)—use clean, certified stock. Scale and aphids common; horticultural oil helps. Fruit year-round. Great for fresh juice.
