Otaheite apple produces pear-shaped fruit with a mild, slightly sweet flavour. The tree is ornamental with showy flowers. Fruit is eaten fresh or used in drinks. Fast-growing and productive.

Care Tips

  • Sunlight: Full sun (6+ hours). Needs bright light for good fruiting.
  • Watering: Regular watering. Increase during flowering and fruit development. Tolerates some drought when established.
  • Soil: Well-draining, fertile soil. pH 5.5–6.5. Add organic matter. Avoid waterlogging.
  • Fertilizing: Balanced fertilizer 3 times per year. Extra potassium during flowering.
  • Pruning: Prune after harvest. Shape when young. Remove dead wood. Can be kept 15–20 feet with pruning.
